Simulated Civ — Data Collection Policy
Effective June 12, 2026
A transparent breakdown of the data Simulated Civ collects, why, and with whom it is shared.
What this policy covers
This Data Collection Policy is a plain-language summary of exactly what data Simulated Civ collects, why, and who it is shared with. It complements the Simulated Civ Privacy Policy, which contains the full detail.
Simulated Civ collects the following categories of data. For each, we list what is collected, why, and how it is shared or kept private.
Local game state
- What: world seeds, settings, and in-progress simulations.
- Why: Save and reload your worlds and reproduce a seed exactly.
- Sharing: Stored in your browser's local storage; not collected by us.
Technical & usage data
- What: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested.
- Why: Keep the site available, secure, and performant.
- Sharing: Held briefly for security and operations; not sold.
Selling your data & advertising
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising outside the purposes listed above.
Third parties that process data
- Amazon Web Services / CloudFront — web hosting and content delivery.
Retention & your controls
Local game state remains in your browser until you clear it. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations, then deleted or anonymized.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing simpledesignllcca@gmail.com.
